Tommy Hilfiger Does Hollywood in 3-D

Tommy Hilfiger Does Hollywood in 3-D

TommyIf you really want to rock a Hollywood premiere, searchlights are so old school. When Tommy Hilfiger opened his West Hollywood flagship store in February—at the corner of Robertson and Beverly—they went 3-D, just like the latest blockbuster films.

Team Tommy turned to Pearl Media and Pearl Media Productions (based in Fairfield, N.J.), which produced a “massive” 3-D projection for the street-level store windows, making the Hilfiger brand live in 3-D for passersby to see—sans the dorky glasses. Pearl Media specializes in 3-D projection mapping, interactive storefront advertising and large-format outdoor campaigns.

Springing into Inspiration

Springing into Inspiration

SONY DSCThe calendar tells us we’re only days away from the Spring Equinox. And after our long winter, we’re so ready for flora and fauna to take root and flight. Over in Tokyo’s Ginza district, this inspiring installation (which was on view from Feb. 4-March 6) is the work of Emmanuelle Moureaux, a French architect and designer residing in Tokyo since 1996. Called “puzzle building,” the window display project is a Jenga-reminiscent stacking of colorful rectangular boxes that take inspiration from skyscrapers. The 1960-era building houses Japan’s Pola Cosmetics.

Moureaux established her eponymous firm emmanuelle moureaux architecture + design in 2003. She’s known for large-scale installations blending color and space, as well as designs for architecture, interiors, furniture and products. Continue reading →

CitySCENE Seattle Is Almost Here!

CitySCENE Seattle Is Almost Here!

SEA_01With just one week left until CitySCENE Seattle, the Diva is starting to get really excited!! Diva just sent in her RSVP for the party, which gathers together the retail design industry for a couple fun hours of mingling and sipping with longtime friends and new faces alike. If you want to join the Diva and her pals at DDI, then mark your calendar for Wednesday, March 20, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.!

Diva might be biased, but she can’t think of a better way to break up the work week than a mid-week shindig with her fav industry people. Combo that with the amazing location—Seattle’s Hotel 1000—and it’s no wonder the Diva is super-psyched. Continue reading →
